Eating Out by Joanne

Dear Aunt Fanny,

    How are you? I really miss you and hope you can go to grandma’s birthday. Let me tell you what happened on grandma’s birthday.

    Last summer was grandma’s 71 years old birthday. My sister- in- law, Yoyo, siblings, Rachel, my parents and I went to a famous seafood restaurant in Hung Hom. I saw some food posters and I heard some noisy sounds from another desk. Suddenly, a kind waitress shows us to a table and gives us some menus.

    First, we ordered a yummy vegetable salad. After eating the vegetable salad, Yoyo tried the fresh lobster soup because she likes lobster very much. My parents and I chose the delicious garlic bread because I heard people said the bread was delicious, so I wanted to try it. Amber wanted a juicy roasted duck because it was her favorite. Then, we tried the meaty crab, noodles with beef, fish, shrimp… they looked very tasty, so we felt glad.

   After eating the main course, we ate our favorite dessert. We ate the red bean soup because the red bean soup was very good, so I wanted to eat more. After that, I ate the longevity bun.  It was small but hot. Every Chinese person will eat this when it is their birthday because they think ate the longevity bun can make their life long. My grandma was very excited because she ate many tasty foods at night, she also ate many juicy oranges.

   Finally, we gave grandma her birthday present- new clothes. The clothes were beautiful. We sang the birthday song to her. She was pleased and bloated that night. I was stuffed and relaxed at the dinner too. I will not forget this wonderful night.

   I really hope you can go to Hong Kong and celebrate grandma’s birthday next summer. If you can go to grandma’s birthday next time, I think she will feel very excited.
